A small group of wounded wolves treaded meekly across the snow. The cold wind beat against their bodies. After a terrible encounter with a party of hunters, many of them were terribly hurt. Their leader, a large black male who his subordinates refered to as Rayven, was wounded worse than most in an effort to protect the pack. He knew as well as everyone else that he wasn't going to make it much farther -- though determined to find a safe place for the clan. He knew there would be somewhere over the mountains, seldom heard of but hopefully existant. They were not far to the north, as much as a mile, though several fell during the journey there. Until at last the five remaining wolves reached the foothills of the enormous mountains. "Do whatever you can to get over those mountains, and live well once you've reached the inner circle. There humans will never bother you again." With those final words being said, the wolves' leader Rayven laid down in the snow as the four remaining began to trek the snowy cliffs. Although neither of them would ever see him again, the paradise that laid beyond the mountains was theirs -- and it would remain wolf territory from then on.
