McKinley Bridge

Generations ago, humans founded an island. They boated out to it many times, and eventually found something new. A landbridge. The humans began to use the bridge instead.
The bridge had always been safe, until one day, when a man fell of. The bridge was fairly high above water-level, and the man fell quite far. His dog, McKinley, jumped in to save him. The dog was truly a wolf/dog mix.
The man survived, but the dog died, and the landbridge was named McKinley Bridge.
Wolven used the bridge for thousands of years, but man and dog have both never set foot on it for years.
